NORs and entry open for celebration of sailing
The Notices of Races and online entry are now available for Queensland’s multi-discipline Sail Mooloolaba 2012, being held from 23rd June through to 1st July.

Sail Mooloolaba is a series of events that incorporate several different classes and styles of sailing. The week starts with the Keel and Multihull, and Sports Boat events on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June, hosted by Mooloolaba Yacht Club and the Australian Sports Boat Association (ASBA).
The Keel Boat and Multihull event includes the Franco German Cruising Challenge (Spinnaker), Franco German Cruising Challenge (Non Spinnaker), Multihull Cruising (Spinnaker), Multihull Cruising (Non Spinnaker), IRC and Performance Racing and Multihull Racing. The Sports Boat event incorporates the ASBA Queensland State Championship.
Then on Tuesday 26th June the Kawana Radio Controlled Yachts Club will hold their One Metre Class racing on Mooloolah River in front of The Wharf Tavern. Members of fellow radio controlled clubs based in Brisbane and the Gold Coast will be encouraged to participate.
Wednesday 27th June will see the keel boats and multihulls take a more leisurely approach to Sail Mooloolaba competing in the Mooloolaba Yacht Club’s afternoon Fun Sail.
On Thursday 28th June it will be back to the serious side of the competition with the inaugural Queensland Schools Invitational Match Racing Championship. The one-day event will be held on Mooloolah River so that sailors and tourists can enjoy the view of the racing and hear the blow-by-blow race commentary.
Friday is a celebration of disability sailing with the adults from the Sunshine Coast Sailability group enjoying being guided morning of learning and practicing their sailing skills.
Sail Mooloolaba 2012 concludes on the weekend of Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July with Maroochy Sailing Club’s Open Dinghy Event which will incorporate the South-East Queensland Contender Championship and Optimist South Queensland Youth Championship. Invited classes are Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Arrow Cat, Contender, Optimist, Pacer, Moth, Laser 4.7, Hobie 16, Sabre, 505, Sabot and Heron.
